Focus on Annie Duke

[ English ]

Annie Duke may not have earned her 1st World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but she remains one of the most powerful poker players at the live action matches at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "buried game" of Omaha hi low.

While competitors from the "younger crowd" of poker go wild after a huge win at the tables, Annie heads back home and becomes "mom" to her 4 children. Annie grew up in New Hampshire and raised into a family of card competitors. If you don’t accept that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to play the game.

However, Mrs. Duke is no small change girl and has succeeded at her cut of hard tables, including eliminating Howard a few times along the way. They are both players that have the skill to capture the huge $$$$$ and do so with a smile.

Mrs. Duke is a strong competitor at any poker table due to the fact that she is a true poker player, but it is a bit more than just being good at the game. Annie Duke is very smart and graduated from Columbia University where she majored in Psychology and English.

When you take a seat across from her at the table you’ll see Annie Duke is there to compete in the game and she begins "sizing" you up from the time you join the poker table. If you cannot bet like a camp, then do not bother.

Winning over $3 million in tournament competitions, Mrs. Duke branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to hone his skills and grow into a force at the tables.

You will likely glimpse her at the Bellagio, you will see her on TV and you may even compete against her in an internet poker game, but do not anticipate an easy win. Unless you’re a camp-in-the-making, you won’t beat her. Although, it would be exciting to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
