Now you must be thinking that pai gow sounds a little Chinese; yes you are right, this casino game is a blending of the Chinese game pai gow and poker
Absolutely this is not one of the highly popular forms of poker but still widely played. It can be played by up to seven players. It’s played with 1 deck of 52 cards, plus a joker. Interestingly, the Joker can be used only as an ace, or to complete a straight, flush, a straight flush, or royal flush. The critical detail here to bear in mind is aside from the normal ranking of hands we have an additional winning hand that is "Five Aces" (5 aces including the joker). Surprisingly, five aces beats all other hand yes, even a royal flush. Each gambler is given 7 cards. These cards are aligned to create two hands; a two card hand and a five card hand. The 5 card hand has to be stronger or be equivalent to the 2 card hand.
After setting up the 2 hands, the cards are positioned on the table face down. Once down, you are no longer allowed to touch them. The dealer will turn over their cards and make their hands. Every competitors hand is compared to the dealer’s hands. If the player take one hand and loses the other, this is called a "push" and no money is lost or won. If croupier wins both hands then the player looses their wager and vice versa. Now if the hand is a tie, the dealer wins everything. After the hand is competed, the very next player clock-wise becomes the dealer and the following hand is dealt.
